As digital banking transactions continue to rise, Washington State Employees Credit Union (WSECU) responded with new initiatives that earned it two national awards in technology excellence.
The awards were presented by the CUNA Technology Council at its annual conference recently held in Chicago. The Council is a national network of more than 850 credit union technology experts that recognize outstanding approaches to technology and operational challenges in the credit union industry.
WSECU took home the trophies for two projects. The first was for WSECU’s digital banking platform. The goal of this multi-year project was to create a consistent, easy to use, and secure experience for members when using any of the credit union’s digital banking properties. The finished product incorporated multiple technology systems into one, integrated experience. Amsterdam-based Backbase created the banking platform WSECU is using, and WSECU is its first U.S. client.
The second project earned the “Best of Show” nod. The work was a revamp of WSECU’s digital lending platform with major improvements in the presentation of information, usability, and flow, with an emphasis on making applying for a loan as easy as possible. MeridianLink provided the lending system software that is the engine behind the new platform, and Experian was also a critical partner in the project.
