Governor Jay Inslee announced Washington’s second annual Hospitality Month for May 2018. Washington Hospitality Association, the Employment Security Department, and WorkSource will be hosting hiring fairs throughout the state.
“I’m proud to celebrate the many opportunities for career success the hospitality industry offers workers across our state,” Inslee said. “Hospitality jobs are key to Washington’s economy, paying more than $5.7 billion in wages, providing important training and serving as a vital path to prosperity for families in every part of our state.”
Hospitality Month ends with a hiring event on May 31 at Hotel Murano in Tacoma. The Washington Hospitality Association, the Employment Security Department, and the Department of Social and Health Service Employment Pipeline will collaborate with WorkSource and other partners to offer attendees a wide variety of career resources and opportunities in the restaurant and hotel industries.
Available resources for new hires include bus passes, certifications, permits, uniforms, food assistance, and childcare assistance vouchers.
