In celebration of Tacoma’s Asian and Pacific Islander business community, the City of Tacoma’s Community & Economic Development Department and Minority Business Development Agency are hosting online June 9 an Asian and Pacific Islander-Owned Business Empowerment Panel Discussion.

The virtual event will be held from 10 a.m. to noon. While this event is free to attend and open to all, pre-registration here is required.

During the panel discussion, prominent local Asian and Pacific Islander entrepreneurs will discuss the steps they took to achieve business success in Tacoma, as well as the resources and funding available for small and micro-businesses through the City of Tacoma and the Minority Business Development Agency. The discussion will be followed by a brief update and Q&A session regarding the services offered by Asia Pacific Cultural Center and Communities Rise.

“As we continue to recover, we want to demonstrate our ongoing support for our local small and micro-businesses,” said Mayor Victoria Woodards in a press statement. “Tacoma is home to some amazing Asian and Pacific Islander-owned businesses who, like everyone else, are trying to get through the current public health and economic crisis. We must continue to look out for one another. Because together, we will get through this.”
