United Way of Pierce County is turning 100 years old on May 14.

That day, the organization will kick off a year-long celebration with a drive-up birthday party and non-perishable food drive.

Held in conjunction with Hunger Awareness Month, the event will feature gifts for the first 100 people to arrive at each location. Live music can be enjoyed from one’s car. Those who are unable to attend can make a monetary donation that will go directly to its goal of feeding 100 families.

The festivities will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at three different locations:

  • United Way of Pierce County’s parking lot, located at 1501 Pacific Ave., Tacoma
  • Lakewood City Hall, 6000 Main St SW, Lakewood
  • Washington State Fairgrounds, 110 9th Ave SW, Puyallup
