The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) is planning to relocate its Northwest/Arctic Regional headquarters to the Columbia Bank Center in Tacoma, bringing approximately 320 jobs to downtown Tacoma in the summer of 2021.

GSA’s headquarters is moving from Auburn, where it has been for more than 50 years.

“The City of Tacoma is delighted to welcome the U.S. GSA Northwest/Arctic Regional Headquarters and its more than 300 high-paying jobs to Downtown Tacoma,” stated Tacoma Mayor Victoria Woodards in a prepared statement. “GSA joins a wide variety of public and private employers that make up Tacoma’s diverse economy, and GSA’s employees will be a welcome addition to the vitality of our downtown. I hope they will feel right at home enjoying first-class amenities — like the Farmers’ Market, the vibrant arts scene, and Tacoma’s stunning natural beauty — all within walking distance of their new workplace.”
