Three historic Tumwater homes will be open to the public on Sun., July 29, between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m., as part of the city’s Heritage Day.
Each home will offer a range of activities for visitors, including quilting, sidewalk chalk art, and rug weaving demonstrations.
Admission is free.
The public is invited to tour the following homes:
- Crosby House, located at 702 Deschutes Way SW, was built circa 1860 by Bing Crosby’s grandparents.
- Schmidt House, located at 330 Schmidt Place SW, was built in 1904 and is the former home of Olympia Brewing Company founder Leopold Schmidt.
- Henderson House, located at 602 Deschutes Way SW, was built in 1905 and is the former home of an Olympia Brewery Company brewmaster.
The homes are listed on the Tumwater Register of Historic Places and the National Register of Historic Places.
