Each year, an organization called INvolve compiles a global list of accomplished LGBT+ individuals. This year, Maggie Lower, chief marketing officer of TrueBlue employment centers, has made that list.

The OUTstanding LGBT+ Executives 2018 list, presented by the Financial Times, was announced on Oct. 26.

“This recognition is a significant milestone in how much Maggie has grown as a global marketing leader and advocate, and how much TrueBlue has evolved as a company,” said Patrick Beharelle, CEO of TrueBlue. “Maggie is helping us build a culture where every TrueBlue employee can really be their true selves.”

TrueBlue offers staffing services across the nation and from its facility in downtown Tacoma. In 2017, TrueBlue connected approximately 740,000 people with employment.

The OUTstanding list has been announced annually since 2013 by INvolve. By naming successful LGBT+ executives and allies, INvolve helps to create supportive workplaces for people of all identities.

Lower was hired as TrueBlue’s very first CMO in January 2018. She leads communications, digital, and brand marketing divisions.

This was not the first time TrueBlue has been celebrated for its diversity. Last month, the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) announced that TrueBlue had received a NACD NXT Recognition Award for diversity in both its senior staff members and entry-level hires. NACD said TrueBlue was chosen for having “a truly broad definition of diversity and for leveraging cutting-edge tactics to intentionally diversify its work force with a goal of empowering workers, enabling the less advantaged worker, and addressing disruption.”
