Tacoma-based staffing and specialized workforce solutions company TrueBlue announced this week Steven Cooper, the organization’s chief executive officer and a 19-year company veteran, will become executive chairman of the board. Meanwhile, President and Chief Operating Officer Patrick Beharelle has been named TrueBlue’s president and CEO.

The moves are expected to take effect on September 1.

Beharelle was CEO of PeopleScout and Staff Management between 2009 and 2014, before the companies were acquired by TrueBlue. He was named president and COO in 2015, leading TrueBlue’s operational, business development, technology, and human resource functions, as well its digital transformation strategies.

Beharelle has spent more than 20 years in the staffing and recruitment fields, and was inducted into the Staffing Industry Analysts’ Hall of Fame in January.

“Patrick has worked closely with me and the executive team for several years and is a well-respected and proven leader within our organization, with our customers, and within our industry,” said Cooper in a statement. “His industry experience, track record of success, and intimate knowledge of our business make him an exceptional choice as our next CEO.”
