Businesses in Thurston County are invited to apply for the Thurston Chamber of Commerce’s Thurston Green Business program, which celebrates and connects local companies and organizations that are working toward sustainability, energy efficiency, shorter commute times, and more.
Qualified organizations must pass at least one of the following seven categories: Green business practices, energy efficiency, transportation and commute trip reduction, waste reduction and recycling, water conservation, social performance indicators, and sustainable product life cycle.
Applications opened at the beginning of January and close on March 15. The program is free to apply to and open to all businesses, even those that are not members of the chamber.
Successful applicants will be recognized at a luncheon on April 10. They also will receive a Thurston Green window cling and a certificate.
Program partners include the cities of Olympia, Lacey, and Tumwater; Puget Sound Energy; Intercity Transit; the Port of Olympia; and Olympia Nissan.
