Thurston County recently launched a new grant, the Thurston Strong Micro-Business Standup Grant, to help small businesses that are attempting to reopen or remain open under Gov. Inslee’s Safe Start program.

While there isn’t enough funding available to support every business affected by COVID-19, the Thurston Economic Development Council (EDC) said small cash infusions to many employers can help small businesses gain traction as they take on the task of starting over or finding ways to operate in a new environment.

The Thurston EDC will administer the program on behalf of Thurston Strong partners. The majority of funding support has been provided by local jurisdictions through a dedicated portion of their individual CARES Act allocations.
