The Thurston Economic Development Council (EDC) is accepting nominations for its 34th annual Business Recognition Awards, which will be awarded at a gala event at the end of May.

The EDC has honored local businesses and celebrated their role in the region’s economic health since 1985, according to a press release. The business recognition awards celebrate business and community excellence in Thurston County.

Awards are offered in five categories: New Business of the Year, Small Business of the Year, Non-Profit of the Year, Large Business of the Year, and Agricultural Business of the Year (a new category open to farmers, ranchers, and processors). All nominated businesses must be located within Thurston County.

Nominations opened March 25 and close on April 5. Submissions may be entered anonymously. Nomination forms are available online.

The EDC will announce the winners at its Thurston Economic Development Council Gala, held May 30 at Indian Summer Golf & Country Club. Tickets to the gala cost $75 and are available online.
