The Thurston County Chamber announced its 2018 Boss of the Year honorees earlier this week. This is the ninth year of the awards, which are co-sponsored by Express Employment.
According to the chamber, the award “recognizes outstanding individuals who demonstrate exceptional leadership in the workplace through innovation, communication, vision, and performance.”
The 2018 Boss of the Year recipients:
- Kevin Stormans, Stormans Inc.
- Joseph Wadsworth, Custom Source Woodworking
- Angela White, Olympia Master Builders
- Zach Kosturos, Prime Locations
The 2018 honorable mentions:
- Lowell Gordon, The Creative Office
- Jill Barnes, The Washington Center
More than 40 bosses were nominated this year, according to the chamber. St. Martin’s University business students helped in the selection process by gathering data and interviewing finalists.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to meet with exceptional business leaders in the community and to also learn more about what truly defines leadership in the workplace,” said Dr. Richard Beer, dean of the St. Martin’s University School of Business.
The 2018 winners will be honored at a ceremony at the Hotel RL Olympia from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Dec. 12.
