Last month, Ted Brown Music was named a Top 100 Dealer and was given the Best Marketing and Sales Promotion award by the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM). NAMM, a global association of audio products and music instruments, recognizes retail musical instrument dealers with an exceptional commitment to spreading a musical spirit in their local communities.

“Winning this award means so much to us because we believe making music makes life better and our promotion enticed a number of people to give it a try,” Ted Brown Music president Whitney Grisaffi said in a statement. “They win by becoming musicians and we win because we’ve helped make more music makers, hopefully for life!”

To determine which 100 retail stores across the nation would receive a Top 100 Dealer award — which Music Inc. magazine dubbed the “retail Oscars” — an independent panel of judges reviewed hundreds of submissions, rating them on categories from store design to customer service.

Ted Brown Music has been a Washington staple since Ted Brown opened his first music store in 1931. Across six locations, Ted Brown Music offers instrument rental, repairs, music lessons, live events, and more.
