Audit Advisory Board

Seeking: One citizen member with experience in government performance and financial auditing

Board purpose: Supporting the Tacoma City Council’s Government Performance and Finance Committee by coordinating audit needs, making audit management recommendations, acting as a liaison between the city council and the city manager, and additional tasks.

Citizen Police Advisory Committee

Seeking: Three at-large members, one youth member, and one City Council District 5 member

Committee purpose: Conducting policy review, reviewing trends in statistics and in the investigation of complaints, and engaging in community outreach. At least 40 percent of members represent traditionally underrepresented communities, according to the city.

Women, people with disabilities, people of color, immigrants, and other minorities are especially encouraged to apply.

Tacoma Arts Commission

Seeking: One at-large member, two professional members, and one working professional artist member

Commission purpose: Supporting and enhancing the arts for the benefit of the city and its residents, creating policies to help develop arts programs and projects, overseeing public art, and more.

Bicycle and Pedestrian Technical Advisory Group

Seeking: Three adult members, one youth member

Group purpose: Advising the Transportation Commission on active transportation-related issues, ensuring compliance with transportation regulations, making recommendations on implementing the city’s Transportation Master Plan, and providing guidance on bicycle and pedestrian projects.
