Businesses experienced in the proper recycling, reuse, and disposal of electronic equipment are encouraged to respond to a Request For Proposals (RFP) recently issued by the City of Tacoma.

Bid documents prepared by City staff note that each month the solid waste management division of Tacoma’s environmental services department collects 10,000 to 20,000 pounds of electronic equipment, such as cell phones, hard drives, keyboards, and laptop computers, as well as small household appliances, such as coffee makers, televisions, toasters, and vacuum cleaners.

Business owners have until June 19 to respond to the RFP. A two-year contract could be awarded in July.
