The Tacoma Dome broke a personal record when it earned the No. 15 position in the U.S. and No. 20 in the world from Billboard magazine, as well as No. 19 in the U.S. and No. 33 in the world from Pollstar for the two leading music publication’s Year End Ticket Sales charts.

Both charts published the sales and attendance at the dome from slightly different time frames. Billboard gathered information from Nov. 1, 2018 through Oct. 31, 2019, and recorded more than $45 million in gross ticket sales and almost 600,000 in attendance. Pollstar published figures from Nov. 22, 2018 through Nov. 21, 2019, noting $38 million in gross ticket sales and 550,000 in paid attendance. These numbers only include concerts and touring events.

Last year was one of the busiest years in venue history, according to a news release. It also received international recognition from the International Association of Venue Managers, receiving the Venue Excellence Award, as well as being nominated for Arena of the Year from the International Entertainment Buyers Association.

All this acknowledgement comes on the heels of a $31 million interior renovation in 2018 that outfitted the arena with new seating and concessions and backstage accommodations.

The year 2020 is sure to be another year for the books with headliners including Billie Eilish, Celine Dion, and Harry Styles.
