If you’re in the trucking industry, or are interested in entering it, this business opportunity might pique your interest.

An established linehaul FedEx route in Tacoma is currently for sale for $1.1 million, including $432,588 worth of equipment (16 vehicles) and 11 employees. The current owner is selling the 10 linehaul route to retire and listed the gross revenue as more than $2.2 million.

Linehaul routes run between FedEx hubs using semi-trucks, which come with greater safety risks but also can be more profitable. FedEx has been contracting route owners since 1998 and brokers the routes with KR Capital, a firm that works exclusively on the sale of FedEx pick-up and delivery and linehaul routes.

“This route comes with a very tenured list of experienced employees,” said Kyle Rohner, principal of KR Capital. “A tightly run operation with a dedicated and experienced employee base, combined with Tacoma’s prime location near Interstate 5, means that this solid investment will only continue to flourish.”

According to KR Capital, a benefit of owning an established route is being in the position to focus on fulfillment instead of “marketing, advertising, or customer demand.”
