Jacques Colon has been hired to oversee the implementation of the Tacoma 2025 plan, the city of Tacoma announced this week.
Tacoma 2025 is a community-informed vision for the future of the city that aims to guide policy-making decisions and improve economic opportunity, education, and quality of life for residents.
“It is a privilege to join the City of Tacoma at such a pivotal time,” said Colon. “Tacoma is well-positioned for tremendous growth and progress, and I look forward to working with the City’s departments and community partners on efforts to achieve our shared goals.”
Colon’s duties as the strategic manager will include putting the Tacoma 2025 plan into action, sparking community and stakeholder engagement, data collection and research, strategic budget alignment, and more.
“Jacques Colon brings to the table a demonstrated ability to build strong relationships, use data to inform decision making, and a professional track record that reflects the city’s values of integrity, service, equity and excellence,” said Media and Communications Director Tanisha Jumper. “We are pleased to welcome him to our team.”
Colon previously worked as the health equity coordinator for the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department. He is also a former Business Examiner 40 Under 40 honoree.
