A state agency that aims to raise awareness and foster support to end homelessness among youth and young adults has been named the 2018 Business of Achievement by YWCA Olympia.

This year’s honoree, the Washington State Department of Commerce’s Office of Homeless Youth Prevention and Protection Programs, was established three years ago and offers services such as safe and stable housing, family reconciliation, healthy and permanent relationships with adult mentors, education and employment, and access to behavioral and physical health care that promotes social and emotional well-being.

For the past 25 years, the Womxn of Achievement Awards have recognized the accomplishments, professional contributions, and public service of womxn in the community. A business category was added four years ago to further laud the achievements of businesses and organizations. Past recipients include Three Girls Media, TOGETHER!, South Puget Sound Habitat for Humanity, and Seifert Law Offices.

Washington State Department of Commerce’s Office of Homeless Youth Prevention and Protection Programs will be formally recognized during YWCA Olympia’s annual Womxn of Achievement Celebration on Sat., Nov. 10, at South Puget Sound Community College.
