Smart Foodservice Warehouse Stores, the wholesale food distributor formerly known as Cash&Carry Smart Foodservice, recently announced that it will open its newest location in Tumwater on Dec. 19. The store will be the company’s 21st in Washington and its 66th in the Western U.S.

While Smart Foodservice primarily serves businesses in the food service industry, the company said it has also been a go-to store for nonprofits, schools, church groups, caterers, and other organizations or consumers looking to purchase large quantities of products at more affordable prices.

The 20,000-square-foot Tumwater store, located at 710 Trosper Road Southwest, will sell more than 8,000 products including produce, meat, dairy, frozen foods, baking ingredients, beverages, bread, catering supplies, janitorial supplies, tableware, and barware. According to the company, the store will likely employ eight to 10 full-time employees.

“Our stores provide foodservice operators high quality products at the right prices,” said John Mathews, vice president of sales and marketing for Smart Foodservice. “We are excited to open our new Tumwater store. Providing a consistent and wide variety of goods at competitive wholesale prices will allow our customers to be confident that Smart Foodservice can be a long-term solution for all of their needs.”

A program called Click&Carry, which lets customers order products online and pick them up in-store, will be offered at the new store.
