National Small Business Week, which runs from April 29 to May 5, is a week-long event sponsored by the U.S. Small Business Administration. Below is a list of educational and enrichment resources available to small business owners across the U.S., and in the South Sound.
South Sound Small Business Summit
The third annual South Sound Business Summit at 8 a.m. on May 1 at Tacoma’s STAR Center supports local businesses in the region by providing educational events and networking opportunities for local professionals. Speakers include: Jude Larson, owner of JML Real Solutions; Josh Dunn, owner of Premier Media Group; and Greg Towne, executive director of the John Maxwell Team. Register for the event here.
Business Enterprise Startup Training
From 9-11 a.m. on May 1, the Washington Center for Women in Business in Lacey is hosting an online conference on Business Enterprise Training. The course provides approved self-employment training through the Washington State Self-Employment Assistance Program (SEAP). Get more information on the course here.
From May 1 to May 3, the U.S. Small Business Administration is hosting a nationwide virtual conference that is free and available to the public. The conference features webinars on a wide variety of topics of value to small business owners. You can register for the event here.
Inspire Women’s Business Conference
This brand new event is taking place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., with a happy hour to follow starting at 3 p.m., on May 2 at the Center for Business & Innovation in Lacey. The event is geared towards South Sound women, and men, who are small business owners or leaders. The keynote speaker is Khurshida Begum founder of ASHHO.
