The Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce recently announced that the subject of its 2019 In-State Study Mission will be its neighbors to the south: Tacoma.
The two-day tour on Sept. 26 and 27 will explore what an ideal partnership between the two cities looks like, lead by former Tacoma Mayor and current Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Marilyn Strickland.
Delegates will meet with local businesses and civic leaders, take a boat tour of Commencement Bay, visit historic Tacoma neighborhoods, and speak with Tacoma Mayor Victoria Woodards about her vision for the future of the city.
“With over 10,000 individuals moving to Tacoma in the last eight years and more than $1 billion being invested in their downtown infrastructure, Tacoma is a force to be reckoned with,” the announcement stated.
Prices range from $875 to $1,400 to attend, based on membership status and advanced registration. For more information and to register for the event, visit this website.
