Monday is the deadline to register for the Regional Economic Forecast & Innovation Expo on Dec. 5, featuring the economic development organizations of Thurston, Lewis, Mason, Grays Harbor, and Pacific counties. The event — running from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Great Wolf Lodge — will highlight emerging economic sectors, a forecast of county trends, and much more.
Expo presentations will focus on regional initiatives within the emerging sectors of media/video production, web portal hosting, creative arts, sports and recreation, and brewing, according to an expo website. Additionally, breakout sessions are planned by regional leaders working in the established sectors of medical and life sciences, food production, agriculture, tourism, and hospitality.
Participants can attend panel discussions on the future of workforce, dynamic changes in technology, the changing face of commerce, and the state of the economy in each county.
Bill Conerly — a veteran economist and consultant who also produces the monthly “Businomics” column for South Sound Business — will deliver the event’s keynote address on connecting the dots between the economy and business, drawing on his expertise as a veteran economist and business expertise in a variety of sectors.
Registration is $75 per person or $600 for a table of eight. For more information on the expo or to register, visit this website.
