The City of Puyallup recently posted a request for event planning, operation, and management proposals for three major city events: the Puyallup Farmers’ Market, the Meeker Days Festival, and the Santa Parade.

The Farmer’s Market occurs on Saturdays from April through October. The Meeker Days Festival takes place on the second weekend of June. The Santa Parade occurs on the first Saturday of December.

According to the city, the Puyallup Main Street Association has managed all three events in the past. But in November 2018, the Puyallup City Council voted to open them up for proposals from outside organizations.

Proposals should be submitted for any or all events to the city clerk by Feb. 28, 2019. The organizations selected by the city council will operate one, some, or all of the events for a three-year period starting in 2020. Selections will be made this March.
