South Sound residents interested in learning more about the future of Woodbridge Corporate Park, site of the former Weyerhaeuser campus in Federal Way, are invited to attend a public open house in February.
The timber company’s former headquarters — a 48-year-old, 355,000-square-foot building notable for its once-originative ivy-covered rooftop terraces and open space office design— sits anchored inside a bucolic, 420-acre setting of lakes, trails, woods, and open space near Interstate 5 and State Route 18. The building and surrounding property were acquired by Industrial Realty Group (IRG) in 2016 for nearly $74 million after Weyerhaeuser’s 700 employees relocated to new headquarters in Pioneer Square.
During the open house, visitors will learn more about the company’s vision to develop Woodbridge Corporate Park, according to an IRG spokesperson, and answer questions related to project designs, environmental impacts, and project timelines.
The open house will be held between 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 13 at Woodbridge Corporate Park, located at 33663 Weyerhaeuser Way South, in Federal Way. A presentation will be delivered by IRG staff at 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
