WorkSource and ANEW are partnering to offer free pre-apprenticeship training.
Aiming to give those interested in construction a chance to explore and learn about career opportunities in the field, the program results in participants receiving OSHA-10, flagging, and forklift certifications.
According to a release, the training is available for those who are 18 or older with a high-school diploma or GED (or will have one by the end of the training period). Participants also must have a valid driver’s license/be able to get one, speak and write in English, be in need of a job/have barriers to unemployment, and be drug-free.
Construction tryouts begin March 30 at 7:30 a.m. The “bootcamp” itself is slated to start April 1 and last until April 28. Sessions will take place Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Every training will take place at the Lacey MakerSpace.
Transportation assistance may be available if needed.
