A brand new higher education facility is arriving in Federal Way this fall.
The facility, The Hub: Federal Way Higher Education Center, is a 7,300-square-foot space that encompasses a computer lab, a pair of classrooms, a student study and gathering place, and more.
The Hub is the result of a partnership between the City of Federal Way, Federal Way Public Schools, Highline College, and University of Washington Tacoma. It seeks to provide additional access to secondary and adult education in the Federal Way area, according to a press release.
Currently, The Hub is slated to open its doors to the public Sept. 27, and will from then on be open Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
“The opportunity for a center of higher education in Federal Way, which benefits our community, is becoming reality,” Federal Way mayor Jim Ferrell said in a statement. “Education is the great equalizer and the residents/students that will use this center will epitomize this ideal.”
