Lack of housing availability is a consistent problem facing the Puget Sound region. As costs continue to rise in prominent urban centers, areas like Port Orchard are expanding to meet the area’s need.

A new, 46-home housing development in Port Orchard aims to offer an alternative to the saturated urban markets by providing residents with livable housing options complete with convenient transportation, vital amenities, and more.

MainVue Homes recently announced the new housing development, Muirfield, as its first golf course neighborhood and its second neighborhood within the McCormick Planned Community. Located along the 10th Fairway at the McCormick Woods Golf Club, the Muirfield neighborhood is a quick walk from the golf pro shop, clubhouse, and community events.

The Muirfield homesites are now selling, with single-story and two-story home plans. Prices start from the high $500,000s. MainVue is currently building its model home in Muirfield, with an opening set for this summer. Until then, MainVue’s model home in Eldon Trails at McCormick is open for buyers to tour while learning more about available homesites in Muirfield.

The McCormick Planned Community will continue to expand in 2020 and beyond. According to the company, it has invested substantially in local community infrastructure. Last November, the City of Port Orchard lifted a moratorium on water hook-up permits for undeveloped portions of the McCormick property. This decision came with a commitment from McCormick to invest $18 million in private funds to repair and build new water infrastructure including reservoirs, wells, and a new transmission main, the company stated.
