Electric vehicle enthusiasts will gather in downtown Steilacoom in September to celebrate National Drive Electric Week.

The local event, now in its fifth year, has drawn more than 400 registered attendees, and this year will feature an exhibit of more than 100 electric vehicles (and nearly three-dozen different electric vehicle models) made by manufacturers such as Arcimoto, BMW, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Fiat, Ford, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Proterra, Smart, Tesla, Toyota, and Zero Motorcycles, according to event organizers.

It also will include electric vehicle rides, guest speakers, and vendor booths.

National Drive Electric Week begins on Fri., Sept. 8, and runs through Sun., Sept. 16. The local event will be held on Sat., Sept. 8, between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., in downtown Steilacoom. More information is available here.
