In its effort to provide easier access to healthcare across the South Sound, MultiCare opened a new neighborhood emergency room in Parkland called MultiCare Good Samaritan Emergency. The emergency room, which opened on May 13, will partner with Good Samaritan Hospital for services and clinical teams.
MultiCare Good Samaritan Emergency features 10 beds (though no overnight beds for inpatients will be available) and treatment from board-certified emergency physicians. The emergency room’s goal is to provide the same high-quality care one would find in a hospital.
Though smaller than a traditional hospital, the Parkland emergency room is still just as equipped to treat illnesses and injuries. Patients can be seen for everything from a headache to burns to broken bones. The hospital is even available for laboratory services and advanced image capabilities, such as X-Rays and ultrasounds.
It has been one of MultiCare’s missions to expand health care options to residents across the South Sound and MultiCare President and CEO, Bill Robertson, believes “the neighborhood emergency rooms are another option that will ensure families can get high-quality emergency care when they need it.” While MultiCare celebrates the opening of its newest facility, they are already back at work planning and preparing to open even more neighborhood emergency rooms.
MultiCare Good Samaritan Emergency is located at 14815 Pacific Ave S, Tacoma, WA 98444 and open 24 hours a day.
