Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital in Tacoma was recently recognized by The Leapfrog Group, an independent hospital watchdog organization, as a Top Children’s Hospital, one of just 13 to earn the award across the country.
“We are honored to receive this recognition from The Leapfrog Group on behalf (of) the patients and families we serve every day. Today, we reaffirm our pledge to be one of the best and safest hospitals in the country,” said Jeff Poltawsky, Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital and Health Network president and market leader.
The award is given out to hospitals who achieve high marks in patient safety and quality, infection rates, care management, and prevention of medication errors.
“Being acknowledged as a ‘Top Children’s Hospital’ is an incredible feat achieved by less than six percent of eligible hospitals nationwide,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group.
Founded in 1955, Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital is designated as a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, and is the only dedicated pediatric hospital in southwest Washington.
