A minority- and woman-owned business, Bite Me! Cookies in Lakewood bakes all-natural, handcrafted cookies, with the capacity to produce 14,000 cookies an hour. It is a wholesale bakery with 30 employees who produce about 20 flavors of cookies – including the popular organic whole wheat shortbread “flower-power” cookies – and sells nationwide, along with contract baking to create distinctive private-label cookies for local grocery stores. Says owner Deborah Tuggle: “Bite Me! cookies and frosting are made from scratch with love and all the most natural ingredients, like rBST free butter, no preservatives or artificial ingredients – that’s why our cookies are the best, and the difference is clear with just one bite.”
