The Lacey City Council has announced that it is seeking a professional with a background in history, architecture, historic preservation, anthropology, archaeology, cultural geography, planning, or American studies to fill a vacancy on the Historical Commission.
In order to qualify, applicants must be a Lacey resident or live in Lacey’s urban growth area. However, the city council noted that it may make appointments despite the residency and term limits based on diversity and the level of experience needed on the commission.
The commission guides the creation of public education and interpretive programs, encourages conservation of items and properties that are of historic significance, and reviews nominations to the Lacey Register of Historic Places. The commission meets the third Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. Historical Commission members serve three-year terms with a two-term limit.
For more information, or to get an application for the Historical Commission, contact Kelly Adams at (360) 491-3214 or email@example.com. Applications can also be downloaded here.
The city council requests that a letter of interest and résumé be sent with the application.
