Kitsap Bank’s recent “From Shred to Fed” events around the region generated more than $30,000 in donations for nine local food bank affiliates, according to the company.
“We were very pleased to partner with the local food banks to give back to our communities,” said Charles Robertson, senior vice president, Retail Banking, in a statement. “Over 100 of our employees came out to volunteer during these events with a shared goal to raise awareness of the needs right here at home, and also to be able to support our food banks during this very challenging time.”
During the months of September and October, the public was invited to bring their outdated and sensitive records to various Kitsap Bank branches for secure destruction while making a donation to their local food bank in return.
Combined with the bank’s corporate donations, Kitsap Bank generated more than $45,000 in 2020 for local food banks in Kitsap, Jefferson, Clallam, and Pierce counties.
