The Lacey-based multidiscipline consulting firm SCJ Alliance recently named Jean Carr, one of its original founders, as the new President and CEO. Carr founded the company 12 years ago with Bob Jewell and former CEO Perry Shea.

SCJ Alliance specializes in civil engineering, transportation planning and design, landscape architecture, environmental and urban planning and public outreach.

Shea is leaving his role as CEO to become the business development officer. He will focus on growing markets that include cable- and rail-propelled transit systems such as urban gondolas.

The firm hired its 100th employee on Oct. 1. It has offices in Lacey, Seattle, Ballard, Vancouver, Spokane, Wenatchee, and Boulder, Colo.
