Do you have a historic renovation, heritage, or preservation project in mind? The Historical Society’s Heritage Capital Projects, which administers capital grants for facilities and landscapes that support the interpretation and preservation of history around the state, is soliciting applications for its current grant cycle.

Nonprofits, local governments, tribal governments, and public development authorities are eligible to apply. Organizations with projects in the pipeline are encouraged to submit an application for consideration for funding in the 2021-23 biennium.

New this year, applications will be submitted online through the Washington Heritage Portal.

Also new, the applications will be submitted in two stages. The first stage determines project eligibility, and must be submitted by 5 p.m. on April 23. The second stage provides more specific detail about project plans, budget, and funding sources and is due by 5 p.m. on June 25.

Interested organizations can attend one of HCP’s upcoming free workshops and can download guidelines and access the application forms via the Historical Society’s website.
