The Greater Tacoma Convention Center confirmed in a press release Sept. 23 that it would soon be reopening for business meetings, testing, and educational opportunities for up to 200 people or 30 percent for every meeting room.
The announcement followed Gov. Jay Inslee’s announcement about new convention-center guidelines as part of Washington’s Safe Start reopening plan.
According to the release, Tacoma Venues & Event staffers are closely following new guidelines. They will be implementing various safety and health protocols in the coming months to ensure the safety of visitors.
Staffers are working with the Washington Safe Meeting and Convention Coalition (WSMCC), and recently proposed standards to be upheld in convention centers and bigger hotels statewide to accommodate business events, according to the release.
Until now, public venues had been closed since March.
