Is Pierce County prepared for how automation and artificial intelligence could potentially alter the workplace?

That topic will be explored in September during the Future of Work Forum in Tacoma.

The event’s keynote speaker, Martin Ford, the author of Rise of the Robots: Technology and the Threat of a Jobless Future and Architects of Intelligence: The Truth About AI from the People Building It, and a panel that includes representatives of Clover Park Technical College, MultiCare Health System, Niagara Bottling, University of Washington Tacoma, and other organizations, will look at how automation and AI are changing the workplace, and how workers can prepare for threats and opportunities inherent therein.

The event will be held on Thursday, Sept. 26, between 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., at the University Y Student Center, located at 1710 Market Street, in Tacoma.
