A grand opening is scheduled for Thursday at Olympia’s largest shopping center as Cost Plus World Market shows off its new store.

The California-based retail chain operates 280 stores in 37 states and the District of Columbia, each stocked with an eclectic assortment of home furniture, decor, tabletop items, plus jewelry and accessories from around the world.

Olympia’s opening ceremony at 9 a.m. will feature city officials and the local chamber of commerce at 2401 4th Ave. W. The first 100 shoppers will receive a reusable tote bag and sample food and beverages. Live entertainment and more will continue through the opening weekend.
