The Washington State Fair may be based in Puyallup, but later this week, Seattle will get a taste of the big event a day before kickoff.
A sneak peek of the fair will kick off in Westlake Park on Thursday, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
One thousand (and only 1,000) scones will be sold, and only one per person. The Fair Farm will also provide a sampling of its collection, with kids invited to pet baby animals right in the middle of downtown Seattle. Other fair mainstays will also be on hand, including rodeo wranglers, a juggler and a clown.
The Westlake sneak peek will serve as an appetizer for the real kickoff the next day, when the Washington State Fair kicks off in Puyallup at 9 a.m.
The fair will run through Sunday, Sept. 22.
