Boeing reported this morning it has been notified that International Association of Machinists (IAM) has withdrawn its petition to unionize the company’s North Charleston, S.C., facilities.

The union had stated during the ramp up to next week’s scheduled vote that it would pull its petition to National Labor Relations Board, if it lacked the support of enough Boeing South Carolina employees to prevail.

NLRB rules will prevent any new petition requesting a union vote for at least six months.
