A year-end construction status report from Sound Transit, the regional urban transportation agency, prominently features the work of Puyallup’s Absher Construction.

The $174 million hard bid project at Northgate, north of Seattle, consists of the Link light rail elevated gateway that extends six-tenths of a mile; an elevated station and a 455-stall parking garage, much of which can be seen in the photo provided by Sound Transit.

Construction crews installed 40 new columns with an average depth of 67-feet to support the elevated tracks before they enter tunnels heading to the UW campus. Crews also poured more than 10,000 cubic yards of concrete for the new garage floor – the largest single pour of any ST project.
