The Thurston Economic Development Council's Business Resource Center will host the 2013 South Sound Success Small Business Conference on Tuesday, Nov. 5.

The event, which goes from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. at South Puget Sound Community College's Hawks Prairie Campus Annex, is designed specifically for new business owners and people interested in starting a business to meet, network and exchange ideas with other like-minded entrepreneurs throughout the day.

The conference will also feature a number of educational workshops, available during multiple breakout sessions throughout the day. Those workshops will cover a variety of topics, including “Starting a Business,” “Marketing, Branding and Social Media,” “Finance and Bookkeeping,” “Taxes and Legal Concerns,” and “Human Resources and Managing Employees.”

In addition, according to manager Daryl Murrow of the EDC's Business Resource Center, attendees will be automatically registered for prizes chosen to provide value to new business owners. Those prizes include office supplies and software, a small business consultation and free tuition for an SEAP business startup training class.

To register for the conference, visit the event's website. Registration is $60 until Saturday, Oct. 5, and $75 afterward.
