The Thurston County Realtors Association has named its 2016 Realtor of the Year: Jerry Wilkins, managing broker at Van Dorm Realty in Olympia.
Wilkins is the immediate past president of the TCRA. He was the manager of the Olympia Multiple Listing Service for sixteen years and the Commander of the Washington State Guard for five years.
“Jerry has been a huge asset, volunteering many hours to improve the way we do things,” said Terry Meyer, TCRA Awards Committee chair. “We are very fortunate to have such an esteemed member who contributes so much valuable knowledge and resources.”
In addition to Wilkins, seven other individual were recently honored by the TCRA: The TCRA Community Service Award went to Bobbi Kelly of RE/MAX Professionals, while the Long Time Realtor Spirit Award for long term civic, business, association engagement was awarded to James Greene of Greene Realty. Affiliate of the Year, as recognition of an affiliate association member, went to Mark Wheeler of Bean, Gentry, Wheeler & Peternell. The Realtor Special Achievement Award for civic and business involvement was given to James Simmons of RE/MAX Parkside Affiliates, and the President’s Award for outstanding contributions to TCRA went to Michelle Wickett, Axia Home Loans.
Thurston County Commissioner Gary Edwards was awarded Citizen of the Year, an award for a non-realtor member for contributions to the public. The Partnership of the Year honor, for support of realtor efforts, was given to Barb Lally of B. Lally Communications.
“The Realtor Awards are presented to those Realtors who go above and beyond their jobs of helping people with home and property ownership,” noted Rae Anne Toth, the 2017 TCRA President who officiated the event. “They display outstanding professionalism and uphold the Realtor ‘Code of Ethics’. They volunteer and seek community efforts to better the area in which we live for generations to come.”
