Daily Biz Briefs is highlighting another three individual honorees from the 2013 “40 Under Forty” recognition program.

The first is Brianne Kampbell, the “Kampbell” of Kampbell, Andrews & Arbenz, PLLC, in Tacoma. The word she uses to describe her career path is “focused”; at the age of 7, she says, she knew she wanted to be a lawyer. She never wavered in her pursuit of the profession, and during summer breaks in college and law school, she would work in her uncle's firm. It made an impression, as the company — which handled estate planning and business law — informed Kempbell's decision to go into the very same fields. Of Kampbell, Andrews & Arbenz, she said that she wanted to create a firm where high quality, specialize services were provided to clients, but that she also wanted her workplace to be fun.

Our next honoree is Rusty George Creative's Crissy Pagulayan. As a project manager, she deals with multiple deadlines, clients and budgets all at once for one of Tacoma's foremost marketing and branding firms. There's just something, she says, “about taking a nonexistent brand — just the thought or ideas of a business — and being part of the team that has a vision to build it from the ground up.” Above all, though, Pagulayan says she's passionate about being a role model to her daughter, whom she wants to teach that you can have a thriving career and still be, in her words, “a rocking mom.”

And then there's Anne Kerker, who has been with Burkhart Dental Supply in Tacoma for three years. Her first job was as a cashier in a grocery store, followed by a stint as the organist for two churches at the age of 14. At 27, she made the decision to move across the country alone, and it's a choice she's very proud of. Now Burkhart's director of human resources, she credits an HR manager she worked for in college as a mentor and “the reason (she) chose to go into human resources, because (Kerker) could see the impact she had on the business through her work.”

Join the public in celebrating these three honorees and the rest of the 2013 class of “40 Under Forty” at an evening program outdoors at Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium on Wednesday, Aug. 7, beginning at 6 p.m.  Details and ticket information are at this link.
