Gwen Terry, TAPCO Credit Union’s vice president and COO, has announced that she plans to retire on Friday, June 7, after 42 years.

Terry began her career at TAPCO as a bank teller in 1971. Since then, she has held various titles; assistant bookkeeper, accountant, data processing manager, acting manager, administrative officer, vice president of operations and human resources, and vice president of human resources. In 2004, she was honored by the Pierce County Chapter of Credit Unions Lifetime Achievement award in acknowledgment of her passion and dedication to TAPCO Credit Union.

“A woman of integrity who has made a difference in countless lives, her passion and dedication sets a standard for all of us that follow in her footsteps,” Carlyn Roy, CEO, said. “She is respected by her peers.”

“Gwen is a very caring, loving, and giving person. She goes out of her way for anyone, no matter who you are. Family, friends, TAPCO members, or even co-workers, she will be there for you,” said Lori Stanaway, AVP of branch operations, who has worked with Terry for over 25 years.
