For Olympia’s Megan Lane, almost 30 years of direct selling work has helped her define the process that leads to success — something that might help any number of persons looking into the jaws of higher goals in the coming new year.

As she outlined in a Q&A article in the December issue of South Sound BIZ magazine, one must understand “Influence” for its place in the buying and selling equation:

“People talk about persuasion, but you can’t persuade someone to do something, unless they actually want to do it,” Lane believes. “So “influence” is a better word. I can never sell something, unless someone’s looking for some answer to a problem, pain or need that they have.”

She also points to connecting people as another key element of influence.
