Tacoma-based hospitalist firm Sound Physicians has announced that it has acquired Eagle’s Hospital Medicine Practices, formerly based in Atlanta.
Eagle’s 150 hospital medicine providers practice at 16 hospitals throughout the United States. The newly expanded Sound Physicians organization will now serve more than 225 hospitals in 38 states with more than 2,500 providers.
“By coming together as two physician-led organizations, we can amplify our results, delivering improved health outcomes for our patients and hospitals, and creating great career opportunities for our providers,” said Robert A. Bessler, MD, Chief Executive Officer of Sound Physicians.
“We are pleased to be joining forces and strongly believe this union will have many positive benefits for our patients, our clinicians and hospital partners,” said Mac McCormick, Eagle’s CEO & president. A statement from Sound Physicians said that McCormick will collaborate with the company to assist during the integration.
Eagle will continue to operate and support its other divisions, Eagle Telemedicine and Locum Connections out of its Atlanta office.
