Kim Bedier, CFE, the director of Public Assembly Facilities for City of Tacoma, is the 2014-15 board chair of the International Association of Venue Managers.
She first joined IAVM in 1995 while working on a project to bring a recreation complex to the remote eastern Canadian Arctic.
Bedier came to the South Sound from Everett’s Comcast Arena and has responsibility for Tacoma Dome, Greater Tacoma Convention and Trade Center, plus Cheney Stadium and city-owned properties in the Broadway Performance Center district.
“This year as chair may be challenging and time consuming, but it is worth it because of what the organization has given me,” said Bedier. “I’m excited to tackle it.”
The Tacoman is featured on the cover of Facility Manager magazine for her new role. She previously served on and chaired a number of IAVM’s committees and task forces.
