With the Congressional session in recess, U.S. Sen. Patty Murray has a day of activity scheduled for Tacoma tomorrow.
Murray will join Rep. Norm Dicks and other dignitaries for a ribbon-cutting to mark progress in the redevelopment of Salishan neighborhood in east Tacoma, which is continuing the service of Tacoma Housing Authority in providing affordable rental and single family housing.
Wednesday afternoon, the senator will participate in a discussion with local youth about the challenges of finding employment opportunities. Also participating will be workforce development agencies, parents and representatives of educational resources.
This session will begin at 1:30 p.m. at Tacoma Pierce County Health Department headquarters.
